From September 7, 2023, Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 278 of September 4, 2023 "On the Procedure for Issuing Documents and Performing Actions" comes into effect. The main purpose of this Decree is to improve and optimize the procedures for implementing administrative procedures.
As part of this Decree, a list of transactions and administrative procedures was established, which can now be performed only in the personal presence of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus or by a power of attorney issued in the Republic of Belarus. This means that a power of attorney issued abroad or through diplomatic missions will be invalid for transactions or administrative procedures related to real estate.
This Decree is aimed at increasing security and control during the implementation of transactions and administrative procedures, as well as at preventing possible abuses and fraud. The adoption of such measures will help ensure more effective functioning of the administrative system of the Republic of Belarus.
