The Central Election Commission (CEC) consolidated the results of a single voting day and determined the process for electing delegates to the All-Belarusian People's Assembly (VPA). The first session of the eighth House of Representatives is scheduled for March 22.

At a meeting that immediately followed the single voting day on Friday, the Central Election Commission announced the results of the elections of deputies to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the eighth convocation. The information presented by the chairmen of the regional and Minsk city election commissions regarding the results of the elections of deputies of local Councils of Deputies of the twenty-ninth convocation was highlighted.

The CEC also reviewed the appointment of elections of delegates to the Supreme Council and established quotas for the representation of delegates from local Councils of Deputies and civil society. The nomination of candidates is carried out by regional structures with an established time schedule. Meetings of the highest bodies of civil society must be held within a certain period in order to complete the nomination of candidates and the selection of representatives.

The process of electing delegates to the Supreme Council:

- Start of nomination: March 12
- Nomination deadline: March 31
- Holding meetings of supreme bodies: April 1-10
- Establishment of election results: no later than April 18
- Deadline for convening the first meeting of the Supreme Council: April 25, 2024

Requirements for candidates for SPC delegates:

- Citizenship of the Republic of Belarus
- Availability of voting rights and permanent residence in the country
- No criminal record and citizenship of other countries
- The selection of candidates takes place separately from public associations and local Councils of Deputies

The Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Igor Karpenko, emphasized the importance of the upcoming elections of delegates and their role in the formation of the constitutional authority in the country. He also noted the importance of training election officials and preparing for the upcoming presidential campaign.
